Is it whey concentrate or whey isolate?

It is a whey protein concentrate (WPC). Concentrate is less filtered than isolate, which is why it tastes creamier and keeps a little of milk's natural fat and lactose. How to use

  1. Add one 30g serve (about 4 heaped tablespoons) to 250 to 300ml of cold water or milk.
  2. Shake or blend until smooth.
  3. Stir it into oats or yoghurt, or use it in pancakes and baking.

  1. Blend one 30g serve with 250ml of milk, 1 cup of frozen berries and 2 tablespoons of Greek yoghurt.
  2. Add a little water if you like it thinner.

Is it suitable if I'm lactose intolerant?

It contains milk and lactose. Whey concentrate has more lactose than whey isolate, so it may not suit everyone who is lactose intolerant, and it isn't suitable for anyone with a milk allergy. If you're unsure, check with your doctor or dietitian.

How do I measure a 30g serve?

Kitchen scales are the most accurate. As a guide, 30g is about 4 heaped tablespoons.

Can I add it to coffee?

Yes. Let the coffee cool to around 60 to 65°C, mix the powder with a little room-temperature milk to make a paste, then stir the paste into the coffee. This helps stop it clumping.

Should I choose whey or collagen protein?

Whey is a complete protein with all nine essential amino acids, which makes it the better all-round protein for shakes. Collagen isn't a complete protein, but it has no taste in the unflavoured version and dissolves in hot coffee and tea. Many people keep both.
